My 'day' job keeps getting in the way of the update.
I am currently working on a major update and have disabled all of the pages which show my current inventory.  The contact us page is functional for all requests that you might have.  The current inventory of pens is being photographed, so the images should be available shortly.

Coming with this update....   Several pens for the "grip challenged" hands.  Designed with input from one of the area's leading hand specialists.  Though simple in design, these pens make writing much easier for those who have trouble holding a conventional, small diameter pen or pencil.  The first few will only be available in mahogany or cherry wood with gold titanium or rhodium accents.

Once the update is complete, my pen inventory & shopping cart will have a refreshing new look and will have much more versatility.

Thanks for your patience while we are working on this update.
Rick

We build & assemble quality writing instruments & winebottle stoppers.
As time and straight sticks are found, we build a unique mix of canes and walking sticks using hardwoods harvested from our own 10 acres of paradise here in North Idaho.  For more information, please see the 'About Us' page.

Feb 2008  Mother Nature hit us hard.  At its deepest point, the snow was 56 inches deep on our roof and almost 4 feet deep in the yard.  My guess is that there will be a significant amount of collateral damage to trees once everything melts away.  If that is the case, after 6-8 months of drying, I will be able to restart making unique canes and walking sticks.  May 31, 2008 and spring has not yet arrived, though the weeds seem to have loved the long, cold winter.  I have yet to be able to get out and start weed control, much less searching for good cane-making sticks.

Yes !  This was a real jigsaw puzzle made from many difference species of wood, laser cut by one of my vendors, then assembled, turned and finished by me.

We are the only retail outlet in the Coeur d'Alene area for
our custom writing instruments.  I try to keep a varied
selection of pens for all budget ranges.  If I do not have
something that fits your personality, just ask.  We can
most likely build a special instrument to fit your specific
needs.

The 'Stars & Stripes' version of our Bitterroot pen is a
rendition of the American flag.  50 laser cut, white curly
maple veneer stars are inlaid into a blue curly maple or
boxelder background cap.  7 red curly maple or boxelder
stripes & white curly maple veneer stripes are laser cut
and inlaid to form the other end of the pen.  A maple
presentation box with the Pledge of Allegiance laser
engraved is also included so that the perfect display is
created.  This version is available in rollerball or fountain
versions by special order.

Why buy a custom pen?

• To reduce hand and finger cramps caused by too much writing with a pen that doesn’t fit your hand.  COMING SOON...  A line of pens specifically designed for those who are "grip challenged".  I am currently working with a physical therapist who specializes in hand rehabilitation on several designs that will enable more comfortable writing for those arthritic or grip challenged hands.  The first prototypes should be available for viewing just before Christmas and will use my everyday line of mechanism.

• A custom fountain pen will train you to write using much less pressure; thus, nearly effortless writing; again reducing hand and finger cramps.

• To make a statement about your personality or how you’re feeling today.

• There is a seemingly endless supply of ink colors available for fountain pens.

• We could argue that using a custom pen will save you money. A cheap, officesupply pen will be lost, broken or given away in a short time and you really don’t think twice about it…. Just buy another and start over. We could tell you that 2 pens per month for 10 years will cost more than a purchasing a single, custom pen and there may be some merit to the justification. On the other hand, a custom pen will have a better chance of being treated with the respect that it deserves. You are less likely to lose it or to abuse it. A custom fountain pen will get broken-in to your personal writing style.

• You can have a pen style that suits your preference. We have single piece, twist pens. We have pen & cap combos…. Some are made to ‘post’ the cap on the pen body while in use and other two part pens are designed for perfect balance without the cap being attached to the penbody when in use.
